About Jordan
Jordan Jaffe is a NY based playwright, director and the Artistic Director of Black Lab Theatre. Jordan's Energy Series, a series of plays that each highlight a particular energy source, includes: Crude (Oil), Fracked (Natural Gas), Beth Kills Birds (Wind). Jordan is also working on two untiled plays on nuclear power and global warming respectively. The world premiere of his play Crude was produced by Black Lab Theatre at Theater 511 at Ars Nova in New York City in April/May, 2016. A reading of his play Beth Kills Birds was staged by Black Lab Theatre at the Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (MATCH) in October 2015 as part of Readfest Houston.
Jordan is also developing film/television adaptations for each play in the series, as well as various other new media projects.
Jordan's directing credits with Black Lab in Texas include Bad Jews (produced with Stages Repertory Theatre and the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston), Tigers Be Still (Houston Press Award 2014-15 nominee Best Director), Really Really (Broadway World Award 2013-14 nominee for Best Director), Assistance and The Submission (Broadway World Award 2012-13 nominee for Best Director).
His acting credits with Black Lab include Leo Joseph-Connell in 4000 Miles, Vince in Assistance, Jules in boom, Vince in Our House, and Stephen Bellamy in Farragut North.
Jordan is a proud graduate of Rice University with a BA in Visual and Dramatic Arts, and has also trained at the Atlantic Acting School in New York. In 2013 Jordan was named to the Houston Press' Top 100 Creatives list of "movers and shakers".
